IDEA presents the 1st International Visual Arts Prize IDEA – Vila d’Amer

The first edition of the competition opens for entries from 9 November 2026 to 10 January 2027, offering €5,000 in acquisition prizes and an exhibition featuring twenty finalist works.

IDEA Associació Cultural presents the first edition of the International Visual Arts Prize IDEA – Vila d’Amer, a new initiative aimed at promoting contemporary artistic creation, raising the visibility of artists from different backgrounds and bringing visual arts closer to the public.
The competition also promotes the establishment of the International Visual Arts Collection IDEA – Vila d’Amer, a permanent art collection that will begin with the award-winning works and is intended to grow in future editions. The initiative seeks to establish Vila d’Amer as a cultural point of reference and enhance the international profile of artists and the region.
The international call is open to artists over 18 years of age of any nationality. Each artist may submit one original, non-editioned work in painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, collage, mixed media or other contemporary visual art forms.

Two acquisition prizes
First International Prize IDEA – Vila d’Amer: €3,500
Second International Prize IDEA – Vila d’Amer: €1,500
The two award-winning works will become part of the new IDEA – Vila d’Amer art collection.

An international jury and twenty finalist works
Entries will be assessed by an international jury comprising five distinguished professionals: four artists with an international profile and one art critic.
The jury will select twenty finalist works, which will be exhibited throughout March 2027 at Ca les Hermanes d’Amer, in an exhibition open to the public. Throughout March, the exhibition will be accompanied by a programme of complementary activities, including guided tours, meetings with artists and other initiatives aimed at bringing contemporary visual arts closer to the public.

Awards ceremony on 2 April
The awards ceremony will take place on Friday, 2 April 2027, at Teatre El Casal d’Amer, attended by public officials, jury members and finalist artists.
The event will feature live musical performances and will be broadcast live. The two winning artists and the members of the jury will be announced during the ceremony. The official catalogue of the first edition, featuring the twenty finalist works, will also be presented.
