This past Sunday, January 12, the Teatre El Casal d’Amer was abuzz with the spectacular performance of Javier Gurruchaga and the Orquesta Mondragón, marking the opening of the 9th edition of Sona Amer. With a sold-out audience for weeks, the venue was packed as the crowd enjoyed an unforgettable evening filled with energy, humor, and the talent of this legendary group.
The audience experienced Historias extraordinarias, a new show inspired by the tales of Edgar Allan Poe, which serves as the narrative thread for a unique cabaret-style performance. During the concert, the band delivered iconic hits like Garras Humanas, Bon Voyage, Ponte la peluca, and Corazón de neón, while also surprising with covers of John Lennon, Luis Eduardo Aute, and Lou Reed.
This weekend has set the tone for an edition full of excitement, further cementing Sona Amer as a must-attend event for music lovers. Until March 23, iconic venues such as Teatre El Casal and the Monastery of Amer will host performances by top-tier artists, including The Blowfield Kings, La Companyia Elèctrica Dharma, Los Mambo Jambo Orkestra and Heaven on Earth Gospel Choir.
