On 6 September, we attended the Troubadours Art Ensemble concert at Mataplana Castle in Gombrèn, as well as the departure of the horse-drawn cart marking the beginning of the Catalan Route of Troubadours and Minstrels. The event included speeches by Cèsar Ollé, Mayor of Gombrèn, and Josep M. Gironella Granés, Councillor of Castelló d’Empúries Town Council.
This valuable cross-border cultural initiative preserves and promotes the legacy of troubadours, minstrelsy and medieval culture. The route connects several municipalities through a travelling programme featuring concerts, performances, entertainment and historical re-enactments for audiences of all ages.
We invite you to discover this important heritage project and participate in the forthcoming activities along the route, which will continue to Castelló d’Empúries.
